CARO AND THE MANNEQUIN… 53 DAYS YOUNG
May 26th 2008 11:11
I have nothing but admiration for Caroline Wilson. She is an intelligent and gutsy woman who, in 26 years of covering football, has broken down barriers for all women, not just those in the world of sports journalism.
In the Saturday Age on May 17, 2008 she wrote a magnificent article describing the aftermath of 'that' Footy Show stunt. Whilst she did not say it directly, to me it beautifully illustrated and defined the sheer ineptitude and weakness of many of her male counterparts.
So, for all those blokes out there who support Sam Newman, the Footy Show and many of the ‘commentators’ on talkback radio stations such as SEN1116, you need to apply an age-old adage…
Ask yourself, if the face stapled to that mannequin was your girlfriend, fiancée, wife, sister, auntie, grandmother, mother or daughter… how would you feel?
Enough said.
